From the School Director’s Desk
Dear BAIS Community,
Welcome to the month of May! May is the oddest time of year for us involved in education as it is the most intense time of both closing the present school year and also finalizing the details of the start of the next.
While the calendar on the right shows the many events scheduled for this school year, I just would like to inform you of our hiring status for 2017-2018.
We have had a flurry of activity over the last two weeks or so on the recruiting front. Over the past week we have filled a few more positions, I would like to introduce them to you.
Kelly Wakefield is joining us after serving at Cahaya Bangsa next door. She has years of experience teaching there and will be bringing that experience to serve at BAIS. Her position will cover many parts of what Mrs. Newell has been doing, serving in many of the academic support and tracking roles, as well as the classroom teaching components.
Jason and Tyra Whitehurst accepted our offer this week. Jason has been a pastor for nearly 20 years and will assume most of Mr. Newell’s responsibilities – focusing on the major projects, such as planning our annual SEW and WWW weeks. Tyra brings many years of experience from both the public school system and private schools in the USA. She will bring her passion for students, love of using technology, and desire to see students grow in their faith to the 4th grade class next year.
This week we have also had several exciting conversations with candidates for our other posted openings, including an upper level math/science teacher and ELD teacher. We are incredibly thankful to God for our current staff, for the new families coming to us for next year, and the ones he has yet to send our way.
Please continue to pray for our recruiting in addition to praising God for what has already been provided!

Library Information
All library materials (books and DVDs), must be returned by May 26, 2017. Library will not be checking out books and other materials starting May 22, 2017 except for classroom usage.
