BAIS Buzz, February 10, 2023

Accreditation Update from the Director

Last December, I wrote a short article on accreditation for the BAIS Buzz. In case you missed it, accreditation is the evaluation of an educational institution against criteria established by an independent accrediting organization, to ensure excellence in education.

In March or April of 2024, we will have the privilege of hosting a team from the Western Association of Colleges and Schools (WASC) and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) to review our self-study. This team will evaluate the effectiveness of our school based on the self-study, interviews, and an analysis of our documentation, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

This is not a time to fear, but rather an opportunity for growth. Our staff is currently evaluating the school through three domains:

Domain 1: Purpose

Domain 5: Resources

Domain 6: Well-Being

  • Standard 1 – Mission, Beliefs, And Foundations
  • Standard 2 – Spiritual Formation And Biblical Worldview Development
  • Standard 3 – Governance And School Leadership
  • Standard 14 – Financial Oversight
  • Standard 15 – Resource Planning
  • Standard 16 – Facilities And Transportation
  • Standard 17 – Instructional Resources
  • Standard 18 – Health And Safety
  • Standard 19 – Staff Wellness
  • Standard 20 – Student Wellness

Next semester, we will continue the evaluation by analyzing the domains of Teaching & Learning, Relationship, and Expertise. The process of evaluating the school allows us to identify areas of strength and opportunities for improvement, and we are proud to do it together, in collaboration with one another.

As parents and stakeholders in the community, you have a role to play as well. In the coming weeks, we will be sending out our annual Climate Survey. The results of this survey help us better understand our areas of strength and opportunities for growth. The more data we can collect, the better picture we get of our effectiveness. This data will also be used to inform our accreditation groups during their evaluation.

We are grateful for our BAIS family and appreciate your effort in providing feedback. Your input allows us to continuously improve and provide an education that transforms the hearts and minds of our children, preparing them for a successful future.

This new platform will provide access to multiple personnel at school so the appropriate individual can respond to the query with accurate information.

As part of this upgrade we will be taking the current WA number (+62 812 8888 2247) offline starting Friday, February 10 at 1300 hours until Tuesday, February 13. Please reach out to the office via email office@baisedu.org or via phone call to +62 22 2101 2247 during this time period.

We wanted to make sure that you are aware of the two BAIS phone numbers:

  • WhatsApp Message Only Number: +62 812 8888 2247
  • Voice Call only: +62 22 2101 2247
