From the Elementary Principal
Dear Elementary Families,
Semester two has begun, as has a new calendar year! With so many new announcements coming from world and national news, it is truly difficult to envision what each new month will bring. Your children have just started the second half of what I believe will be one of the most memorable, if not the most memorable school year of their lives. Even our youngest ones will have memories of these times which will stick with them for their whole lives. We are thankful for you and your children and firmly believe you are in the right place here at BAIS!
Our elementary teachers are counting down the days until they can have your children join them in their classrooms, and experience that imminent, renewed appreciation for human contact and “normal” school. Until then, we will continue to provide what we believe is the best quality and quantity of schooling at a distance.
My hope is that you have been able to take a step back and appreciate the extra time you have with your children in the home. I recognize the fact that it looks differently for each family, and on many levels has been very difficult. However, we must remember that our children need our loving help to get through this unexpected stage of their lives.
Lastly, here are a few announcements from our academic program:
- Semester 1 report cards will be sent home digitally on January 22, and physically in your child’s Monday packet on January 25th
- A new form for G1-G5 specials classes (P.E., Art, Music, and Library) selection was sent by email on Tuesday so that families can choose which they would like for their children
- Monday packet pick up will resume Monday, January 18
- Stay tuned for communications from our school director, Mr. Thomas, regarding future plans and dates for the reopening of BAIS – Our facility is ready and prepped!
- If you have not already done so, please communicate with our finance office about your reenrollment for next school year. Early bird (3%) discounts for next year’s tuition go until March 5.
- Just like last semester, find those spaces in your home where each of your children know that when they are there, it is school time. This may be easier said than done, but it is surprising how creative some of you have been in creating workspaces for your kids!
In John 14:27, Jesus speaks these words to his disciples which are just as relevant today for us as they were for them: “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
Sincerely,
Neil Cantrall
Elementary Principal
