From the Athletic Director’s Desk

BAIS Family,

Next week marks the end of this year’s basketball season and the beginning the third season of afterschool activities and clubs. I am continually impressed by BAIS parents, students, teachers, and staff that invest so much time and energy into the lives of our students and community. Thank you for your continued involvement and dedication to our school. I recognize that we have been able to offer 28 different after school activities because of our parents’ willingness to volunteer and make connections to outside club sponsors. A special thanks to those that have offered to lead new clubs, volunteer at school events, played in staff games, or have come out to cheer as fans.

Next Thursday our basketball teams will leave for Salatiga to attend this year IISSAC basketball tournament. This season, under the leadership of Mr. Thomas, we were able to create the Bandung Activities Conference (BAC). The conference’s goal is to bring schools in the Bandung-area into an interscholastic community that uses organized activities to bring each participating school together and instill discipline, sportsmanship, and cooperation within its students. BAC has enabled our basketball teams a full season of regular games. The local conference has also prepared our students and coaches for IISSAC next weekend. One change I am grateful to have noticed this season is how our boys team cheers for our girls’ team while they are playing (and vice versa). BAIS is an amazing place to be a part of. And our students are impressive young men and woman. I appreciate the opportunity we have to go to Salatiga and represent ourselves, our school, our community, and God. I am grateful that our students continually do an admirable job at representing who and what BAIS is. If you see a BAIS basketball player this week please encourage them and ask about their season. Our hope is that students at BAIS not only receive a high quality education but also enjoy a loving, supportive community where they can participate in a variety of new and exciting activities. Thank you for being a part of our BAIS family and all you do to contribute to its success.

In love,
Mr. Justin Powers

ALC / Job Expo

Every year the BAIS Director joins all the other NICS Directors from across the world for a conference at the NICS home office just outside of Memphis, TN. This conference is great professional development for the directors and also a time of refreshment as we always enjoy each other’s company. Another very important aspect to this trip is the Job Expo that has both live and streamed audiences. This expo gives each school the opportunity to present to scores of potential teachers the benefits of teaching overseas and at one of our Network schools. The past two years, we have filled key positions as a direct result of this expo. Please pray we are able to find outstanding people to fill our open spots. Below you will find the positions we are searching to fill:
