We all know that when we do things with experience it goes smoother. That same idea applies to standardized testing especially with the added pressure of doing well on a test that could affect your future university offers. At BAIS we want to remove some of those pressures and set up students to be comfortable while displaying their knowledge and university preparedness. The PSAT allows students four opportunities to learn to manage their progress during a timed test and follow strict standardized test regulations.
To achieve this we offer 8th graders their first opportunity to sit for the PSAT 8/9. At this age, students are learning to manage their progress during a timed test and follow strict standardized test regulations. Students can choose to take the PSAT 8/9 again in 9th grade, making them even more familiar with the testing room expectations. In 10th grade, we offer the PSAT 10, which is designed to continue to build on the testing room skills and is grade level. We find that usually, students will take the PSAT two times before sitting for the actual SAT during the second semester of 11th grade or the first semester of 12th grade.
On Wednesday, October 14th the junior class came to campus to sit for the PSAT/NMSQT. When students receive their PSAT score report, they can track to see if they are on target with their education journey for university. College Board will also send recommendations for Advanced Placement classes and an individualized study program through Khan Academy.
