From the Director’s Desk

Dear Parents and Students,

We are in the midst of May Merriment! This year the calendar of activities is that much more condensed with an earlier than normal finish to the year. As a community, this is a great time for us to collectively make a concerted effort to be in prayer! Prayer is such a powerful tool as we are called to much more than a “wish list”. Instead, we are commanded to bring our cares and concerns before the throne of the Creator. What a privilege! This is often times an unimaginable truth, but when I consider it, it provides me with a sense of joy and peace. As a community, we get to bring the cares and concerns of each other to that same throne, and petition God on each others’ behalf. At this time of year many feel the weight and stress of all the end of year activities. In light of that, below are a few prayer requests for our students. There are many, but I ask you pray specifically for these:

Pray for our students in AP Testing. These 10-12th grade students have worked hard all year to learn the content and skills for these challenging classes, and it is their time to shine! Please pray that they have calm hearts and clarity of thought during the tests.

Pray for our ten seniors! We have been blessed as a school to have them this year. Please lift them up as they finish up with finals next week and then head out on their senior trip. Pray that they enjoy sweet fellowship with one another in these last weeks and that they finish well. Please also pray for them as they look towards their next steps; they will be entering a variety of new environments and facing many transitions. We pray they will draw closer to God through it all.

Pray for our grade 5 students as they will be spending a whole day with Grade 6 to prepare for their transition to secondary. Moving upstairs is a big change and can be difficult for students and parents.

Thank you for your faithful prayers on behalf of our students!

Together in Him,
Karl Nielsen

Why We Do What We Do?

Parent Surveys of Teachers

In the middle of the school year and then again at the end of the school year, BAIS sends out a survey to parents asking for their feedback on their child’s teachers and classroom experiences. This data then becomes a piece of the information that is used by the administration to complete summative evaluations for each teacher. During an end of the year conference, the supervising administrator and the individual teacher meet to talk about how the year went, to go over the summative evaluation instrument, and to share strengths and areas of growth for the coming year. We want to say thank you to all the parents that have already given feedback on this year’s parent surveys. If you haven’t been able to fill out the survey, please take 1-2 minutes to fill out the Parent Evaluation of Teacher survey now.
