Who we are

BAIS, one of Indonesia’s oldest international schools (Estd. 1956), has equipped its students to be ready for life’s challenges throughout its 65+ year history. We provide a quality education based on a biblical worldview which prepares students for the challenges of the 21st century by allowing them to realize their full potential.

BAIS fosters a family atmosphere inside and outside the classroom setting and has many social events for parents, teachers, and children to get to know each other.

BAIS students and teachers represent many different nationalities. Even though school enrollment continues to grow, it still offers small classes and individualized attention to students in classrooms.

Message from the
Head of School

Selamat datang! I am so excited to welcome you to Bandung Alliance Intercultural School where the hearts and minds of learners are transformed through the discovery of truth and the experience of beauty in our world.

My journey at BAIS started in 2015 as a teacher and I was immediately struck by the rich, international community. The longer I have been at BAIS the more I have realized that what makes it special is the underlying sense of joy, kindness, and love for one another embodied in our community. Overtime, I have come to realize that this is a result of our community’s commitment to not just educate our children, but to journey alongside them, helping to guide them through the often chaotic waters of life as we prepare them for university and adulthood. Our staff cares about every student who walks through our doors and wants to see them grow into the young man or woman that God has made them to be.

Are we accomplishing this mission? When I ask alumni what the best part of their time at BAIS was, almost every single one of them says the community.

You see, we are committed to providing a challenging, Biblically-based international education that prepares students to attend universities globally, but we are also committed to the compassionate, holistic development of those entrusted into our care. Through authentic and meaningful experiences, our students have the opportunity to build bridges with those from other cultures and broaden their perspectives all the while discovering their purpose in life and developing their passions in order to be a positive influence in their world.

None of this could be possible without the amazing teachers and staff who are committed to the mission. Our teachers come from all over the world to daily personalize instruction and support student growth and development. Their international mindedness cultivates an environment where all cultures and beliefs are welcome and respected and their commitment to life-long learning ensures that we continue to provide an engaging, vibrant learning experience. Their Christlikeness means that every student is cared for and loved as someone made in God’s image.

As we embark on this journey together, I look forward to seeing the incredible growth and transformation that will take place in each of our students. Our dedicated staff is here to support and guide them every step of the way, fostering an environment where they can thrive. Thank you for entrusting us with the privilege of educating and nurturing your children. Welcome to the BAIS family!

Blessings,

Travis Julian,

Head of School and Secondary Principal
