Arts, Athletics & Activities

Arts

The visual arts program seeks to teach students that, as image bearers of a creative God, the fine arts are a vital aspect of human culture and a powerful means of exploring and expressing the beauty, truth, and goodness of God and His creation. Grounded in Biblical truth and values, the program emphasizes the role of the arts in cultivating the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—and their ability to inspire and transform individuals and communities. By providing a rigorous and comprehensive arts education, the program aims to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and values to engage with the arts responsibly, compassionately, and purposefully, ultimately fostering creativity, empathy, and social engagement in a way that reflects and honors the complexity and beauty of God’s world.

Drama

At BAIS, our theatre program is a celebration of creativity and collaboration, open to students from elementary through high school. Occasionally, we even invite staff members and parents to join the fun, making it a truly inclusive experience for the entire BAIS community. From the visible talents of acting, singing, and set design to the subtle arts of lighting, sound design, and smooth scene transitions, each component is essential in crafting a memorable performance each year.

More than just a showcase of talent, BAIS drama brings our community together in a shared mission to glorify God with the gifts He has given us. Each production reflects our dedication to teamwork, artistic excellence, and honoring God in all we do.

Music

Welcome to our music program! In our elementary program, students will discover fundamental music elements like rhythm, pitch, and timbre through engaging instruments such as desk bells, recorders, djembes, and the angklung, a traditional instrument from West Java. As they progress to middle school, students enhance their skills by playing in ensemble settings with instruments like the ukulele, angklung, and melodica. In high school, students collaborate in a band setting, selecting their own instruments and tackling more advanced repertoire as a group. Join us for a fun and enriching musical journey!

Photography

This class is designed for beginning photographers wanting to learn how to compose and take photos using the manual settings of the DSLR camera, or anyone wanting to become more confident behind the camera. Students will learn basic photo editing skills using Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. As student photography skills grow, we will learn how to manipulate the camera settings to create art from what we see.

The majority of our website’s images are captured by the talented students in our yearbook and photography classes.

Studio Music

Studio Music is a dynamic course designed for high school students to explore the intersection of technology and music creation. The class covers essential units such as Rhythm and Beats Foundations, Melodies and Chord Progression, Basic Audio Editing, and advanced topics like Mixing, FX Processing, and Mastering. Students will also learn about Digital Music Marketing to promote their work effectively. By the end of the course, students will apply their skills to create an original composition using digital tools and develop marketing strategies to distribute their music for various purposes.
